It takes a lot to impact a teenager's life. Breaking through the hard shell a young person can put up is a challenge for even the best parents, teachers, and youth leaders.

Yet beneath that hard exterior is a heart and life with great potential. Every person God creates is blessed with potential.

Sadly, the graveyards are full of people who never reached their potential because they never fully believed in their God-given potential. As a result, their songs were never sung, their books were never written, their paintings were never painted, their inventions were never created. They quit before they made the team, gave up before realizing the dream, dropped out before graduating with their friends. Their ideas were never shared, their visions never became a reality, their purposes were never fulfilled.

One of the greatest tragedies in life is to sit back and watch potential die untapped. In many communities young people are overlooked and not highly valued. We believe that God sees potential in young people and has a plan for their lives.

It is a great tragedy when a life fails to fulfill its purpose and potential. RockSolid is about people. It's about making a change in people's lives. We are not sitting back and watching young people waste their potential because no one took the time to challenge them to live up to their God-given potential. It is our desire to touch the lives of young people all over Colleton County and help release the untapped potential that is within them.   

RockSolid is about decisions. . .life changing decisions 
A recent study revealed that 85% of people who become Christians do so before the age of 21. Many major life decisions are made during these formative years. Decisions like occupational direction, academic pursuits, relationship development and marriage to name a few. We believe an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ is essential for making right decisions. 

RockSolid is about relationships. . .positive relationships
According to a recent Barna Research poll one of the greatest needs expressed by people today--young and old--is to have healthy, happy and successful relationships. Yet millions believe they are not as successful in building relationships as they would like to be.  Barna also reported that nearly two-thirds of parents (63%) said that their church should take on an increased role in assisting parents. Our goal at RockSolid Youth Ministry is to help young people grow in healthy relationships with God, family, church and community. We are challenging young people to take what they learn back to their homes, their schools, and their neighborhoods. To build positive relationships that will bring out the potential for good in every life around them.

RockSolid is about culture...teen culture
To be effective in reaching young people, we must acclimate ourselves to teen culture so we are able to communicate in a way that relates to young people.  RockSolid is a place where young people learn. A place where they grow spiritually. A place where they have fun and social activities. Teen culture includes a teen environment with teen icons, a game room, snack bar, and other elements of teen fun and fellowship. We want to communicate with young people in their language and environment.
